Ravikiran holds a PhD in Economics from Centre for Informal Sector and Labour Studies (CILS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).  In his dissertation ‘Essays on Intergenerational Economic Mobility in India’, he has tried to understand the level  and pattern, of intergenerational economic mobility in India with a particular focus on role of educational.

 

His main research interests lie in the area of Applied Development Economics, Informal Economy, Employment & Female Entrepreneurship, and Intergenerational Socio-economic Inequality.

 

At IIHS, Ravikiran supports ongoing research on urban economic development and employment.
