Vrishti has a Masters in Planning with specialisation in Urban Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, India. Her Master’s thesis deals with the critical appraisal of the New Land Pooling Policy for Delhi notified by the Delhi Development Authority in 2013 for the development of sub-cities based on the concept of land pooling and public private partnership. Her Bachelor’s thesis involved an in-depth study on the concept of urban renewal and characteristics of Walled Cities leading to proposals for improvement/renewal of Walled City of Delhi (Shahjahanabad).
Her areas of interest include urban governance, land management, planning legislation, disaster management, climate change and informal sector. In 2015, she worked with IIHS on a project – Built form study, Madanpur Khadar. Post that, she worked in the real estate sector, but always had an inclination towards planning until she rejoined IIHS as part of the Practice team working on the ongoing land project.
Her hobbies include arts and crafts, recycling waste to art, dancing, travelling and reading fiction.
