Arjun Srinivas has a Master’s in Economics from the Madras School of Economics. At IIHS, he currently works with the CARIAA-ASSAR, a climate change and adaptation project, focused on semi – arid regions in India. His research interests lie primarily in the sphere of development economics, and he is involved in the assessment of socio-economic vulnerability of communities, with a particular emphasis on climate related risks.
He is conversant with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Within the CARIAA project, he has contributed in the following capacities.
He has also contributed Op-ed pieces based on his research, which have been published in portals such as The Wire and Citizen Matters. He has a keen interest in questions of political economy and well-being and contributes to the research being conducted under the School of Economic Development at IIHS. He has also taught at the Urban Fellowship Program.
Prior to IIHS, Arjun has worked with Equifax, a leading credit bureau, as an Analytics Consultant. His role was to leverage Equifax’s data assets (financial, utilities and demographic data) to provide analytical insights to a variety of clients. He also has prior experience in journalism, having interned with The Economic Times, India’s leading financial daily, where he authored articles that were featured in the print edition.
