At IIHS, Simran is a part of the Fundraising Team. She’s looking at the market fundraising opportunities and connecting with perspective donors and engaging with various stakeholders to enhance the profile of IIHS in the external world.
She has grown up in Ranchi and Pune and holds a B.A. (H) in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi and a M.Sc. degree in Economics from Symbiosis School of Economics, Pune. She has worked on development issues like urbanization and migration while interning with XLRI Jamshedpur and Institute for Human Development, Ranchi as an intern. She did her master’s thesis assessing the role of civic participation in enhancing democracy by exploring the concept of Participatory Budgeting in Pune.
Simran has keen interest in research areas like Human Development, Urban Governance, Urban Poverty, Urban Settlements, Urban Infrastructure, Migration and Civic Participation in Democracy. She has also been a part of the student’s council at Symbiosis inculcating leadership and management qualities at the same time.
Besides academics, she loves dancing and is fond of old classic songs. She has been performing at school and college level functions and has been a part of the school choir team. She likes reading and loves to pen down her thoughts. Simran is a nature lover and has a good combination of Punjabi, Bengali, Santhali and Marathi Languages.
